When does pay-per-ride beat a Fuji-Q pass?
Almost never for coaster fans. Fujiyama, Takabisha, Eejanaika and ZOKKON each cost ¥2,000 per ride, so the break-even against a ¥6,000 pass arrives on your third ride, before lunch on any normal visit. Per-ride only wins for people riding at most two attractions.
There is one genuine per-ride use case: you came for Mt. Fuji photos, the observation deck and one bucket-list coaster. That day costs ¥2,000 instead of ¥6,000, and it is a perfectly good day. Families splitting between Thomas Land and the big coasters should check the price guide, because Thomas Land's 12 attractions run ¥400-500 each and have their own cheaper pass.

Is the Klook pass more expensive than buying at the park?
It depends on the date and the exchange rate. On peak dates the official pass reaches ¥7,800-7,900; Klook prices are date-based and often below the on-site rate off-peak, but converge near the peak. You are paying for English booking, your-currency pricing and an instant mobile ticket rather than a discount.
Do any passes cover the Haunted Hospital?
No pass includes it. The Super Scary Labyrinth of Fear charges per group of up to four: ¥4,000 if you hold a one-day or afternoon pass, ¥8,000 if you do not, sold on-site only.
Can I upgrade per-ride tickets to a pass mid-day?
The park sells passes at the counters all day, but money already spent on individual ride tickets is not credited toward one. Decide before your first ride; the three-ride break-even math above is the decision rule.
Do priority tickets replace a pass?
No, they stack on top. A priority ticket buys a shorter line for one specific ride and goes on sale online at 6pm three days before; you still need a pass or a per-ride ticket to actually ride. Heavy-crowd days justify one or two priority tickets for the worst queues.
